Jilda Shernoff Attends 2013 Jenesse Center Silver Rose Gala Hosted by Jurnee Smollett-Bell

This year it was held at Vibiana on April 6, 2013 in Downtown Los Angeles. Jenesse Center is a national non-profit domestic violence intervention and prevention organization that provides a holistic, comprehensive program to nurture victimized families back to a place of mental, financial, physical and emotional well-being. The theme for the 2013 Silver Rose was "Because of You". Frazier-Thomas said, "We chose the theme 'Because of You' as a tribute to the donors, supporters, volunteers and friends who support Jenesse in so many ways. It is the network, outreach, influence and impact of our supporters that makes reaching our mission possible." The event raised funds and saluted important community figures who advance Jenesse Center's mission to protect families from the ravages of domestic violence. This year's distinguished 2013 Silver Rose Honorees include Kenneth Bentley, Vice President Community Affairs at Nestle USA, Riaz Patel, President of Axial Entertainment and Terri Seymour, Correspondent for nationally syndicated entertainment show "Extra". These individuals are representative of Jenesse's strategic vision to change the world by welcoming the very best ideas and opportunities for families. Jenesse is proud to present the Fannie Lou Hamer Award to Alice Brown, Jenesse Case Manager and Brenda Adway, Jenesse Customer Care Supervisor. Karen Earl said, "Alice Brown and Brenda Adway exemplify excellence in the work they do at Jenesse. Women, children and families come to Jenesse broken. Alice is one of the first faces they see when they arrive at the Jenesse emergency shelter. She receives them in a way that lets them know every thing is going to be ok. Brenda handles everything to make Jenesse families comfortable. She helps them to know that they are cherished, important and valued. Brenda and Alice are soldiers of love who make a significant impact in helping our families to not only heal but thrive.
